So, I was watching Cartoon Network this morning, and one of the characters in the cartoon titled The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy said "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law."
That was an unexpected surprise.

Don't you just love it when cartoons and modern media slip in those lovely little Pagan bits?
And Aleister Crowley was a fricken genius!
Have any of you read about him? I know I need to do some more reading.....blah...no time....

I first read about him my first year working at the Public library, so that was about 4 years ago. I believe this was the book I read...the library needs a new copy.

This is the guy who made my tarot deck...a marvelously abstract creation. He is probably a genius...or a madman...most likely both.

The Public Library has the book with Crowley in it...though it's information isn't all that accurate (It lists him under Satanism). Here is some more accurate information & a picture. Aleister Crowley

I was pretty offended when I was watching History's Mysteries' episode on "cults". There was a bit in there on Aleister Crowley and they didn't misquote him so much as they misconstrued him. A glaring way they did this was by saying that his motto was "Do what thou wilt"...when that's only half of it - the key phrase left out being "An it harm none". It implied that the point of his works were to just go about life overindulging and exploring whatever perversion strikes one's fancy. Immediately following this bit about Crowley, they moved into Satanism, and how Crowley was an inspiration for the whole Satanic movement. It's spin like this that gives the non-pagan community an "evil" impression of pagans. Rather than get excited that they publicize our teachings at all, we should demand an honest portrayal. Just my feelings on the matter.

Okay, I screwed up. I've been informed that in Crowley's version "An it harm none" is not actually there. That was added later in the Wiccan Rede. My mistake.

So, I was watching Cartoon Network this morning, and one of the characters in the cartoon titled The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy said "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law." That was an unexpected surprise. The episode was on again this evening. I got the episode title - Five-O-Clock Shadows/Terror of the Black Knight.
