Okay, an overview of the Chakras-
For our purposes we will be working with the main seven, there are more or less in different traditions.
The first- the Crown is at the top of the head this is the the human and divine meet, in fact a little above the physical scalp. It generally eminates white light. The second is the Third Eye chakra, located in middle of the forehead between the brows, this normally is purple in hue, and is the 'organ; of the sixth sense, or psychic ablity; moving down to the throat, this chakra- the throat chakra- is where our voice comes from, and our voice is a collection of vibrations that cause real and distinct changes in the universe around us, this is blue. Moving down to the middle of the chest is the Heart Chakra, this is the chakra responsible for our emtional feelings, and its generally green- however in some traditions there are two chakra, one small one directly over the physical heart that I have heard Reiki healers describe as 'pepto-bismal pink' in heathly people, that precides inside of the larger green chakra. But for our purposes we will focus on the green part. Moving lower, to the soft area between the ribs, where hickups eminate from is the Solar Plexus chakra, this is where your physical stomach is and where your body recieves its nourishment, this is too is where your soul recieves nourishment. It is generally yellow in healthy individuals. Moving lower to the area right over your belly button, this is your Navel chakra, it is orange it most people, this is a persons power place, its health relys on how we accept and use or own personal power, or the lack thereof. The next and last is the Root or Base Chakra, this is red- an appropreiate color for the place of passion, sexuality and power in its rawest form.
The reason for the color is the way in which the energy around the chakra vibrates, color is simply a wave of light energy. And the reason for individual variences in color when one can see the manifestation of color is because one: everyone's energy is different, and two; everyone's eye picks up different variations of color. No two people can ever see the exact same color, its physically impossible. So don't feel bad if you see the 'wrong' color, it is simply the feelings and energy associated with the color that we are concerned about.
Healthy chakras, spin clock wise, not wildly just steady calm clockwise motion however if the chakra is spinning wildly clock wise, it could mean the chakra is over active and the person either needs grounded or the Chakra may simply be taking energy away from other chakras, where as damaged or sickly chakras may be closed or even moving backward, counter clockwise. Those Chakras mocing counterclock wise maybe scared or injured, there could be poison arrows, or damage than would be worse off being opened by someone with out proper training. Some of these injuries may require years to heal. So it is best to avoid those Chakras moving backwards, simply make note of it, sometimes a person maybe unaware of the injury. For those simply closed chakras the person may not realize they have chakras, and may not understand how to balance their energies and the pendulum exercise will help with this and most of the minor chakra issues.
Now this is just a primer for the exercise...
