Ok, Moo is singlehandedly (I hope not) going to revive the herbalism post. I'm going to post some nice herbs and their history and uses here, and people can peruse them as part of our BOS at their leisure. I'm sure Katie will have lots to say here when she gets like two minutes, which taking into consideration this beast of a board she has to moderate will be few times.

Ok, here's how I'm going to work this. I'm going to post some info on a lot of herbs, and the ones that I think are the most readily available to we college folk and that might be multipurpose (i.e. good to have on hand) I'm going to mark with a star. I.E. **Basil** Katie, I'm not the expert, if I do this wrong you're going to have to edit the thinger. Or add to it.

Katie's list of absolutely essential herbs.
I asked the question:"If I could only pick ten herbs to have, these would be it."
Rosemary, Parsley, Sage, Thyme, Bay, Marjoram, Vervain, Anise, Basil, Comfrey.
Fortunately these are all also fairly easy to find. I'm going to find some basics on them and post them next.

Rosemary: This is a universal substitution.
Thyme: Possibly one of the best common herbs for healing. Handy. Easy to find. What else do you want?
Sage: Sage is an excellent herb for wisdom and psychism. This is easy to find as well.
Parsley: Good filler, combines with everything, makes good herb to charge.
Bay: Good protective herb. Also easy to find, can be used in potions or scattered.
Marjoram: Good for depression.
Vervain: Does pretty much everything. Good for love and protection.
Anise: Purification and Protection. Combines well with Bay leaves.
Basil: Love and protection. Used in love magic.
Comfrey: Travel protection, also general protection; money spells.
