The cauldron represents Akasha and the womb of the goddess (though I sometimes use the chalice for the womb since I don't yet have a cauldron...if capricorn's lair would get up off their butts and ship it already. ) The cauldron is used sometimes in the center of circles to represent the goddess from which all magic flows, and sometimes it's used to actually cook things in (but that depends on the material, what you're intending, if it's a sabbat and that's what your trad says, etc.)
