Student Senate March 3, 2005 MinutesMinutes for just us are about four pages long...can't fit on the site! Katherine Phillips and Jamie Atkins presented the constitution of the Circle of the Pagan Moon. Phillips said that the organization is for Pagans and other Neopagans on campus. She noted the group is a religious organization open to all students, particularly non Christians. Atkins said they want to help educate the campus about what Paganism is....

Atkins! I can't believe Reist didn't notice that!

There were quite a few funny typos in that whole thing... I wonder what it is that they approve when they do approve the minutes...

The minutes are also hosted on my site as a backup, and I will save a copy into my PC at home. View them online here.

This is my commentary on the scrutiny of the constitution. I'm sticking mainly to the important points. This will help with interpretation for future members. - Senator Reist is a good friend of ours. He helped us revise our constitution a few times. We probably wouldn't have gotten approved without some of the changes he suggested while we wrote it.
- Senator Rachter's question involving homosexuality was an attack on Kathryn, who happens to also be vice president of Common Ground, the Gay-straight alliance on campus. At the vote, he fell to his knees. He prayed to prevent the group from becoming officially recognised.
- The mission statement that we provided had been selectively highlighted so that we could easily find the specific parts that would be argued for the approval of our group. We did not expect to have to supply the mission statement for the senate, otherwise we would have come with a clean copy.
