Samhain by Saiok Tarek O.k. I've heard from the majority of the group that we want a formal ritual out at the lake. So. What kind of ritual? I have a book of ceremonies and rituals that has one for Samhain. We could come up with our own as well. We'll decide that. Right now, I'd like to tell you all what we shall need for such an endeavor. 1. An Altar -Goddess symbol -God symbol -Earth symbol -Air symbol -Fire symbol -Water symbol -Pentacle -Salt -Water -Athame -Chalice or small bowl/cauldron -Food offering -Decorations 2.Quarter Altars. -4 Small tables/large flat rocks/hunks of wood -A representative of each element -A candle of the correct color 3.Clothing -Dress in special clothes. Something to fit the season. Dress in your robes. Dress in nice pants. If you don't want to mess your nice clothes, and don't have things you only wear for spell casting and ritual, do a special laundry load of the clothes you will wear. Wash them separate from everything else. 4.Ritual Cleansing -before we start our day, have a special shower or bath. Use your nice soap Mom sent you for your birthday. Break out the new shampoo, even if your old bottle isn't used up yet. Throw a couple of aromatic herbs in the basin and wash your hands. Something. 5.A way to raise energy -We have to find a way to raise the energy we'll need for the ritual. We should practice this in the meetings to come, before we get to the lake. 6.Tools/Items -Wands -Athames -Brooms -Crystals -Charms -Mirrors -Paper -Pens -Candles for light. Lots of Candles for light. Lots and Lots. -A bucket for water. In case our light candles create a slight...problem. 7.Possible parts of a Formal Ritual -Calling the Quarters -Calling the Center -Calling the Goddess -Calling the God -Symbolic Great Rite -Drawing Down the Moon -Drawing Down the Sun -Releasing the Quarters -Releasing the Center -Thanking the Goddess -Thanking the God 8.Priestess/Priest/Leader -We'll need a someone to lead this thing. It is not like we have one at our disposal. Well, that is only a quick partial list. We need to start memorizing parts very soon, though. We should do part assignment and part understudy this coming meeting. (9-29)
