Once again we met on the couches in Maytag.
We had two new members show up, Aiyanna and Dasha...Hi ya'll!
So, we had quick introductions again.
We discussed what we wanted to do for Mabon, September 20 and 21 and what we wanted to do for Jae's birthday.
We all wanted to have time at the lake, with fire, but schedules conflicted with that, so we will just have to save it for Samhain (Halloween!)
We decided that we would meet in Maytag on our regular Wednesday night time, then right away head over to the "Jesus Circle", a lovely little enclosed area, rather perfect for us!
Jae wanted Angel food cake for her birthday and cider. We all decided to bring LOTS of candles, as it will be dark when we go to the Jesus Circle for the celebration.
We also thought about having a little ritual for her birthday, and also for Mabon. Something easy and informal, so everyone can feel comfortable participating or watching.
Every one is to bring a Mabon fact to the next meeting, if they can find it.
We then discussed the idea of a small food donation to the Pella food pantry, because Mabon is our second Harvest Festival of the year. Everyone who can will bring a canned something or other to the next meeting. They'll make it the food pantry somehow.
We also talked about another field trip to Des Moines to visit Ancient Ways and the Half-Price Book store. The trip is penciled in somewhere towards the end of October.
After the business part of the meeting those of us who could stay headed over to Geisler Library to look at some of the Pagan books they have. We found quite a nice bunch of books and Jaimie created a lovely detailed list to be posted elsewhere on this site. The list only covers about one third of the available books.
That's about it! If I forgot something, just add it!
