We had a marvelous time!
Sam brought a beautiful cake, Aiyanna brought veggies, drinks, candy, and pumpkin thingies.
We had a mini-feast in Maytag and talked about general things.
We also had the good fortune of meeting Jenn's boytoy friend.
After we then headed over to the "Jesus Circle" Lighting those candles was rather difficult, but the effect was quite worth it.
We shared information about Mabon, then talked a little about our ancestorial background and what we were thankful for. Mabon is our thanksgiving, after all.
After that we played around a little with different chants and sound patterns...trying to raise some energy. We have yet to find the correct approach for our group, but we'll get there at some point.
Jaimie took requests on her clarinet.
We talked about what we wanted for Samhain and we came up with doing a formal ritual down at the lake. We also need to honor our dead that day.
We discussed having a field trip to Ancient Ways the Saturday before Samhain. This suggestion was met with much glee...I think I may have squealed a little....
Next week we are celebrating Maureen's and Sam's birthdays together. They are going to teach us a song.
We'll once again meet at Maytag, then head to the Jesus Circle when we are ready.
Over all, a great meeting!

Don't forget all the strange looks we got from all the NINE people while making all our music... that was pretty fun too, heh heh.

Ancient Ways is a wonderful Pagan shop, which I have not yet had the pleasure of visiting... I hope I will soon. Katie definitely has more info on it than I do.

*nods*
Ah, Ancient Ways. It is this marvelous shop in Des Moines, near the Capitol Building somewhere, I think.
They sell crystals, oils, incense, books, statues, herbs, jewelry, wands, athames, and oh so much more. It has a wonderful feel to it and the staff is very friendly.

lol yeah, I bet the people in nearby hoffman and pietenpol were kind of wondering about the random drumming and clarinet solos too. There's music coming from the jesus circle! And light! It must be an omen from god! *oooooh*
