Wow, congrats!!! hey, I've got tons of resources for planning a wedding...want any help? and what is a level 3 handfasting? Level 1 is inconspicuous -- you can invite family and they probably wouldn't even notice anything remotely Pagan about the Wedding. Level 3 is a blatantly Pagan handfasting. BEHOLD THE BROOM!

Thanks for the offer- we bought the handfasting book that has the great rituals in it... But part of my finalizing my HP training is writing the whole damn thing myself, and I want to anyway.

And yes Adam- there will be at least one "BEHOLD THE BROOM".
And space afterwards for the resulting laughter. It's going to be a happy event!

You'll have to let Adam shout the "BEHOLD THE BROOOOM!" part. It'll be the silliest that way. Or maybe audience participation. Imagine a shout of that reverberating throughout wherever the handfasting is being held. I have a couple of books too but Adam and I are using them mostly as inspiration. Using a canned set of vows wouldn't be any fun and don't reflect us as a couple. I can see where you two would feel the need for personlized ones as well. Oh, and when are you planning on having the handfasting anyway? Adam and I need to pick a date or something--it won't be anytime before we're finished with college I think. But, who knows? Hooray for having lots of ordained people around! That'll make it more festive and fabulous too. ;D

<stunned with head tilted to one side> mwwhhhhaaaaaaa? ? wow....really didn't see that one coming. ...huh... I need to get to Pella more often. Well, double CONGRATULATIONS to you both!! Thats going to be one heckuva magical family. A level 3...thats really cool. Mine was a level 1...but I had the bigass family and friends wedding with the big white dress (yes I got married in white) and tuxes and the whole deal. The minister was totally in on it and super cool about the whole thing. My invocation to the Goddess was the song "Ave Maria"...which was covered by the fact that my husband was raised Catholic. We did have a handfasting in the ceremony, cords and all. If you need any help let me know...and if I don't get invited I'm going to turn you both into toads. (Good thing I'm kidding cuz I'd hate to recieve the threefold on that one)
