Maureen's poor kitty isn't doing very well. The vet says that Maureen's kitty has about a week left to live. The cat's kidneys aren't working, and Maureen wants to know if there is any way to ease the cat's pain.

I have a spell for pain relief in animals, unfortunately its in a book that I've loaned to a friend and I can't think of it off the top of my head. But sometimes, I believe whatever you can come up with in a pinch works just as well. Here's what I'd do:
Have the cat resting on your lap, or in a comfortable spot. While softly petting him/her, visualize warm, white light flowing from your power center, thru your arm, thru your hand and fingers and into the cat. Ask Artemis (goddess of animals and wild places) to ease the pain and bless your friend. Ask for an easy and painless crossing to the Other Side (though animals never have a hard time crossing since they are perfect spirits). Do this for as long and as often as you want. Its also a great way to bond with your cat and let him/her know how much you love them. After the cat has crossed over, I would make an offering of cat food, litter, or money to a local shelter in thanks to Artemis and to honor your friend.
Its never easy to lose a friend of the animal persuasion. I wish you the best in the road to come. Just keep in mind, your cat will never really leave you, but will only become one of your best allies on the Other Side and will be one of the first to greet you when its your time to go.

Aww Maureen, I'm sorry.
This is what I did when my cat died two Jans ago.
First, he was in a lot of pain, because his kidneys just stopped, so it might be similar.
So I went ahead and drew a full circle with the cat inside. He didn't move much, I think he was in a lot of pain. But usually if you just give the cat the image of, hang out here, they will.
Then I invited all my elementals and in turn started to meditate on an amethyst. I chose amethyst because it's one of the most calming stones, as you well know. For about an hour my kitty sat in my lap in the circle with everybody, I was white lighting him, and I focused no pain into the crystal, then kept it next to the cat. He didn't move from the spot.
Then I took another crystal, a hematite is best because it grounds better, and tell the kitty what you're going to do first so it doesn't get scared. Envision the ailment of kitty as a red blotch in its aura. Then slowly take the red and syphon it into the crystal, as if you were sucking out a red dye from a white soup or something. When you're satisfied that there is no more red (pain) then you can dismiss everybody.
If you want after that, put your cat in his/her favorite spot, and put the crystal you've charged to take away its pain, possibly both of them, but if you put the full one, make sure you put it far enough away.
Then cast a small circle around your cat and let it stay in a holy space. Possibly summon a familiar to keep it company, let it know that the familiar isn't going to hurt it.
That's all I did, he seemed much happier. Hope it helps.

Thanks for the replys--as of now she's in no pain and acting like herself again. (crabby, lazy, cute) I think (possibly) that she's doing a little better at home instead of at the vet's because she's a Cancer. ^.^ That also explains her crabbiness--she's a furry Gimli.
