Fresh news from Mugglenet:
Harry Potter-themed restaurant in the works
The Business Journal is reporting that the founder of the Rainforest Cafe is currently working on plans for a Harry Potter-themed restaurant:
The team has figured out 22 ways to make snow, 10 ways to do fire. They've gone to Asia, China and Brazil in search of dinosaur eggs, gemstones and 22-foot doorways. Schussler has spent hours on the phone with J.K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series, since one concept centers on the young wizard.
This plan, along with six others, are all still in the design phase and likely won't be open for another 2-3 years... if it makes it past the design phase. Thanks, Dayna, for the tip!

One word: Noooooo!!!
Potter restaurant rumours denied Rumours that a Harry Potter themed restaurant is going to be opened are untrue, according to sources. It's been reported that an American businessman was launching seven new restaurants and that one of them would have a Potter theme.
It was also reported that he'd spent hours on the phone with JK Rowling discussing the idea.
But a spokesperson for Warner Bros told CBBC Newsround that neither they, nor JK, had given permission of any kind.
And a representative for JK also told us that there was no truth in the reports that the author had been discussing the concept with the businessman.
Sam is sad. V. sad.

hmm....though a restaurant with a Harry Potter theme would be quite entertaining, I cannot help but rejoice at this new news.
I think that a themed restaurant would only cheapen the Harry Potter series and make it even more commercial than it already is, what with trading cards, action figures, legos, coloring books, stickers, dolls, costumes, candy, etc.
The Harry Potter Establishment must hold on to some dignity, after all.

This is v. true. We don't want HP to turn into Xmas & Independence Day. But, of course, commercialization is a natural part of anything popular these days. And, as we know, commercialization of your product is the sincerest form of flattery. In business anyway.

Well, our dear artist, Moo, has provided us with a fabulous picture...of Professor (Severus, Sev for short) Snape in a Little Black Dress. There are a few of us who are great appreciators of Slash fanart and fanfic... And just plain love the guy! Little Black Dress...By Moo

w00t for Moo's artistic ability! ;D
Adam had a wonderful but diabolical idea for when the Half-Blood Prince comes out: Go to one of those midnight book-sellings... all dressed as Death Eaters. Then we can stay up and read the book, then pass out for a few days from sheer exhaustion. Also, the Death Eater costuming could be fun for a midnight showing of the Goblet of Fire this fall.
Hell, with Moo's artistics... she could even gives us each a fabulously-done Dark Mark!

I just noticed something... I've been thinking that the Half-Blood Prince was coming out June 16, not July 16... waaa!
